Verification is the process of “proving” the data submitted on the FAFSA. Typically, about one in three student’s FAFSAs is selected for verification. Until verification on a selected file is completed, no financial aid is packaged for that selected student. NOVA Financial Aid staff members will walk you through the verification process, help you understand what is required and point out areas that cause problems. The sooner you complete the process, the sooner you will know what aid is available for you.
