The program is a 2-week virtual program in which selected High School students will engage in the field of computer science with interactive activities, workshops on career paths, intro to programming and coding lessons, and meet both NOVA faculty and industry representatives. The program will also provide overviews of college resources and educational services at NOVA, financial literacy, academic planning, and critical skills through our one-credit College Success Skills course (SDV 101).
The students will meet virtually for 3 hours a day, Monday - Thursday (no meet on Friday) during the weeks of June 14-24, 2021. An in-person tour of a NOVA campus following CDC and NOVA health guidelines may be provided on one of the days.
This bridge program is intended to serve students who have little to no experience with Computer Science (CS) and would like to learn more about what CS is and what this area of study entails. First-generation students and underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.
