The NOVA Symphony Orchestra will be performing live onstage at the Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall and Arts Center its Spring concert program, Folk Music From Around The World. The program features several symphonic works derived from folk music, including
Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 2 in C minor, Op. 17;
Ralph Vaughn Williams’ “English Folk Songs” Suite;
Christopher Johnston’s Variations on "Arirang” (a Korean folk song);
George Gershwin’s “Selections from Porgy and Bess”;
and the premiere of a new work by a local composer, Charles Stolpe , “Voided Dimensions”
The Orchestra will be performing the Variations on “Arirang” with Mrs. Eunju Kwak, violin solist.
