Service Project: Card Making

Join Student Life as they create uplifting cards to send to Send A Smile Today a organization whose mission is to let cancer patients know they are never alone.

Cards will be collected after this event and sent directly to the organization. Many craft supplies will be available to use but feel free to bring your own.

If you're interested in creating your own cards and dropping them off at the Student Life Office in CF 232 you may do so as well!

Instructions: Use the front, middle and/or back of the card to write your message and draw pictures/decorate. Be creative!

  • Think of things and images that would brighten up someone's day. We ask that you not use large or heavy embelishments.
  • Avoid writing things like "Get Well Soon", "Feel Better Soon", and religious messages. Examples messages include:
    • We are thinking of you
    • Sending a little sunshine your way today
    • We are thinking of you and hope for your continued healing
    • We hope to put a smile on your face today
    • Sending a smile your way today
    • Our thoughts and encouragement are with you
    • Stay strong as you keep fighting
    • Sending you a hug for a great day today
  • Make sure you sign your name to each card you make so the person receiving the card will know who made their card. Multiple people can sign the same card for added support!
  • Lastly, make sure your card has an envelope as Send A Smile Today pays for the postage and labels the cards to every individual.

Additional Notes: You may include Forever Stamps with your donation as it helps Send A Smile Today defray costs. If you feel tht you are not able to make a card, store bought ones are acceptable, please sign them and confirm that they follow the suggestions above.
