Join Dr. Elizabeth Rule, Assistant Professor of Critical Race, Gender, and Culture Studies at American University, and Student Life to explore the history and legacy of Native Americans in the nation’s capital. Dr. Rule, an enrolled citizen of the Chickasaw Nation, will lead a virtual presentation that highlights locations with Indigenous connections across Washington D.C. We’ll learn about Guide to Indigenous DC, a free mobile app that Rule developed in collaboration with scholars, historians, and members of the local Native community. Guide to Indigenous DC is a tour map and mobile application featuring sites of importance to Native peoples across the Nation’s capital. Join us from 1 pm - 2pm on November 16th.
